This is soooo incredible!!

I am geeking out big time over here!

I got the cd mailed me of the gloves the_thread_lady took pictures of from the Fashion Museum in Bath!

I have already looked through it like 3 times and still cannot get enough! I so want to hop on a plane and fly over there and bed them to let me publish a coffee table book of just the gloves and cuffs (they label them gauntlets) no matter the condition. Sigh, I can dream! :)

The page is not done yet and I do apologize for not posting here every day like I originally planned. Things just got in the way and I ended up working more than an hour a day on this project, way more. :P

I kept a running record in a word doc and have been slowly porting it over to a webpage off my glove site.

I would love comments on anything you see there. I especially would love any published references specific speaking to the gloves I show.

Along the way I have decided that I will be taking this project a step further and either recreate or find the pattern that is on the cuffs of the gloves I finally chose to make.

I am a bit of an outside of the box thinker, ok, I am a LOT on the outside of the box thinker. (Yes, I am the one that said "eye ball it" cause that is how my mom did it and my grandmother did it and how they chose to teach me when it comes to sewing. I just did not realize that it meant that you must have that talent in you to be able to "eye ball it".) I chose to make a pair of gloves that were not made of leather and not the every day cuff of an Italian from the renaissance. I chose velvet gloves.

R.I.P. Carolyn Kayta Barrows, she was one of "Us", a fellow Glove maker, knitter, S.C.A., science fiction fandom, Dickens Faire, the Hyde Street Pier in San Francisco, and the Suffragette Protest every March.

She loved butterscotch pudding and caramels, they have asked that we have small parties serving these items to remember her by.

God speed dear friend, I will miss you.

Wow, 48 does not feel too bad at all, nope not bad at all. :D

The tub is not empty. Yet the newest addition to our family decided to take a walk along the edge and try her paw at a floating toy or two.

George Takei marries longtime partner Brad Altman

WOO HOO!!

I had the esteem pleasure of taking Mr. Takei out to lunch many years ago. I was fresh out of a relationship where I dumped yet another a..hole and I wanted to just get away from the Con. I was part of the guest liasion's office and volunteered to take whoever was next out to lunch. I drew Mr. Takei. :)

We sat at a table with 3 others and eat and talked and bullshitted for over 4 hours. He did not want go back to the Con and used me as an excuse. I was very happy to oblige. That was one of the most wonderful lunches of my life. He of course has the charisma to make you feel as if you are the only one that he is talking to and that your conversation was the most important thing in the world to him at that moment.

I could care less if he remembers us or not. All I care about is that I was having lunch with someone that was a kind, generous, forgiving soul.

More power to you George!!

My baby girl, the one that was soooo underweight when she was born, the tinyest student in her preschool through 5th grade, the one that I need to be a constant cheerleader for and advocate in the school systems world wide, my pooky girl, she is 13 today.
